Gruene River Grill, not in New Braunfels but close enough for me. I'm sure there's others but I've always liked that place. Stop at Gruene Hall and get you a cold beer when your done eating.

That balsamic ribeye is pretty dang good.

Calimari at gennaros in town - some of the best and rightly priced Italian in that area IMO

Clear Springs restaurant. Great catfish and onion rings!

McAdoo’s is by far the best in town.

Gristmill, Gruene river grill, krause’s, clear springs are some other good places as well. Gennaro’s is no more, closed down a while back.

We usually eat at Gristmill but might change it up and try Gruene River next trip, Buttermilk cafe has an hour wait Wednesday morning so it’s probably good. There’s a little Mexican food restaurant called Los Gallos that was good with some yuuuge breakfast tacos and cheap.

Frito pie at Phoenix Saloon. My Wife is the Biggest fan..
Just a Cool place as well ..Not what you were asking ,
But it's worth a visit. Pretty good bar food burgers etc..
We'll be there in 2 weeks..
