Reviewed the footage. I’m zoomed out too much and the camera is focused on the forked tree in front of me. Deer is standing behind the tree (Red Dot) in the frame when I shot. He runs the yellow line and beds in the timber behind the cedar.

I never saw him leave the timber. It’s a triangle of timber that lots of deer bed in.

We found him, still alive. He jumped 40-50 yards from the first place I saw him bed. Ran 30-40 yards and stopped, then walked East on the edge of a creek. He is hurting. He could see us the whole time and never made an effort to run.
We immediately backed out. Waiting till the morning and going in with the same dog we used on T’s first deer if available.

Blue dot is where he was bedded when we bumped him. He walked the creek along the yellow line.
