I can't think of situation where it would be legal, but I could be mistaken. I'm pretty sure that you have to have an alligator farm license to own an alligator in Texas. If it's a farm, it's legal for them to own, but not legal to give it to a person who doesn't have the same license. That could change if alligators are taken of the "threatened" list, which could happen soon.
