    2020 white bass thread

It's getting about that time to start catching them again. I'm sure there are some parts of the state that it's already happening. Last year in northeast Texas I started catching a few in the middle of February. Really hammered them in March and part of April. I'm definitely a long ways from being an expert as last year was my first year to really get after white bass.

Post up your success and even lack of success on fishing.

My favorite time to fish white bass is now, deep water easy pickings.

Last year was kind of a dud for us. Never could find the big schools of them running.

I managed to kinda figure out catching them in running water (creeks) last year. I'm gonna try my best to get into open water and figure them out like you mentioned.

Download the navionics boating app and figure out where the deepest channels are. It’ll give you a contour of the lake bed. That’s what I do with pretty good success.

Fished Whitney Tuesday and Wednesday and probably caught close to 200. All on slabs in 30 ft of water.

On lakes, especially Buchanan, focus on humps in 20-30ft of water. Humps close to deeper water/drop offs. I have caught 1000’s of whites on these type jigging spoons
