First Wood Project - heavy duty work table

    3ftx5ft 3.5ft tall.

This was my first attempt at building anything substantial. By no means is it perfect, but it doesn’t wobble and is strong as all get out. Already been on top of it hanging a light. For nothing but a circular saw and a hand sander and drill I’m impressed with it.

Looks good. What's the hole in the top for if you don't mind me asking?

Since he placed it against the wall I’m assuming to run cords through it?

Correct, well it was initially a screw up and me not buying enough 2x6. But I made it work, and had the idea to use the scraps I had to run coords through the back of the table

I built one similar. Here is an idea for some simple drawers if you want to expand it.

Either put the drawers above or a shelf on the lower cross-pieces to make use of that space--

That is the plan eventually to put a shelf on the bottom braces.

And, another thing---put a piece of 1/4" plywood across the back legs to stiffen it, and I found that MDF is a great bench top material--

That is what you see on the pics I posted. Nice and slick finish, and if you mess it up, you can replace it!

Nice work. I plan on building a work bench as soon as I clear out a space in my garage for it.
