Stand building questions… windows & plywood

Started a 4x8 box blind this weekend. Framed and decked the floor.

Planning on Deerview windows. Best place to buy?

Any recommendations on the height of the windows from the floor?

Going to need 6 sheets of siding, and that stuff’s gone wild. Is there a good way to watch prices other than just pulling the item up on Lowes.com or whatever and refreshing occasionally for a price check?

I bought my windows from Dickinson feed , they arrived within two days . I do not remember my window height but make sure your rough opening fits the windows. I retrofitted an old stand and had to do a lot of cutting .

I've used primed smart siding on the last 4. I paint 2 or 3 coats

I’m 6’1” and my windows are 38” from floor to bottom of window. Ditto what Smart mentioned as well. Sit in a chair and measure from floor to bottom of your weapon’s barrel. Worked like a champ for me. Finishing up on an 8’x5’ with trap door entry. Thing is a beast. Did three sides with fence pickets and the back will be with thinner plywood.

Order your windows directly from deerview. You can watch FB Marketplace in your local area and find better pricing on sheets of plywood from time to time.

This one’s going to be for sitting with kids and/or grandpas rifle hunting.

                        Go 6'!!
                        4' is too narrow.
We have all 4x6 blinds, and they're just too small for hunting with kids. Maybe we bring too much stuff? I don't know....but the next one I spend my hard earned money on to build will be 6x8.

                            Gotta agree with this ^^^^*

I built a 4x8 last time and it’s a bit too skinny and a bit too long. If I build another one, it will be 5x7. A 5x6 would work really well for two grown adults

Like like the 6x8, gives you enough room to sleep and still have a heater or ice chest ,trap door ,or something at the end . You also might Look at ordering plastic for your sides ,my son-in-law works for a place in Boyd ,I will check the price ,been thinking about building a couple of them to sell if it's not priced through the roof ,it comes in sheets half inch thick like plywood, they have different colors mine's tan about like this screen , they also have a dark green
