Mangrove is hard to beat. Haven't caught one in years though

My wife’s speckled trout tacos fried in seasoned corn meal on a fresh corn tortilla topped with home made tomatillo, home made Baja cream sauce and a home made slaw.

I catch some pomps in the bay every year. Never a whole lot but some days 2 or 3. I've caught them around the passes but also have caught them on reefs.

We catch them behind the house in Gulf Breeze, I don’t have a clue about Texas though.

That's wild and pretty cool! I've caught them in the surf but never in the bay.

I really need to figure out how to catch them better. I'll catch a few in the surf but never can load up on them. Some fine eating

They are just bycatch or bonus fish for me. I don't target them.
