This story starts about 6 years ago when my buddy AD (Hoyt21 on here) guided me and my son on our first S Texas trip and I seen a really wide 8 point, the deer wasn’t anything special it had low times but was super wide and just seeing that buck got me super excited. Unfortunately that deer was on the do not shoot list and we just had to sit there and watch it, and we seen him a few more times at different stands and every time I seen him it got the heart pumping. Fast forward to this season, I got a call from AD saying to get down here if you can and with a few sweet words to the wife and my pops saying he wanted to make the trip we loaded up and headed down. Yesterday it all came together as he came out AD said there he is, and once I got I quick glimpse I couldn’t look at the antlers I just had to get the excitement calmed down and focus, once he got to 20 yds I drew back and settled the pin and arrow hit the mark. We celebrated and waited a little bit to recover and on 1-1-21 I had arrowed a buck that I had wanted to shoot for a while. He is my biggest buck scoring 134” with a 22” spread and really blessed to get to do this with a really good friend and my pops getting to make memories together.
