Tracking dog around van zandt County area?

My neighbor shot his first deer with a bow this evening but can't find blood. Im at work tonight so I can't go help him. He got a pass through and said the blood on the arrow wasn't dark colored but he said it made more of a thump sound when it hit so im thinking he may have hit her back. Also said the arrow didn't smell great but didn't have any sign of gut on it. He is sick and asked if i could help him find a dog
