2019 Saltwater Fishing Thread

Good fishing show, had a great time. Met up with a couple of HS buddies. Got a few new lures and a pair of waders to check out.... we'll see how they hold up. I'm not a cold water guy so it'll be interesting to see how they do.

I was having the best luck on “hopper” and “black cherry” gamblers...... but my friend threw a top water all morning and he had pretty consistent action on that too.

Still getting ready. Put on new boat trailer lights today and ice chest tie downs. Ordered a couple of SS rail rod holders and stringing reels this week. Have travel trailer spot reserved in Aransas pass from April 1 st to June 31st. Can't wait.

Where is your trailer?
I bought a little place in AP and go down every chance I get all summer!

Just got back last night and flat wore out. It was worse conditions I have ever seen in hopedale. Dirty water, high winds, cloudy and coupled with down right cold made it extremely tough.

First day was a bad day as we only weighed in one fish, second day was better conditions and had some decent weight. I did test out the limits of what my boat can and can’t do [emoji16][emoji15]

I managed to sneak down with a buddy and fish last night on my birthday. Big girl of the night was only 27”, but it was a blast. I didn’t take pictures, so the best I’ve got is a screen shot from my buddy’s live video

Took family down to Navarre, FL for spring break...no luck with the Pompano...i bit too cold still, but we did manage a few whiting in the surf and a big ugly black drum...kids were excited.

Pulled a limit of trout off the dock Thursday night, started busting bait around 10:30 and they stayed all through the night. Lots of shorts but managed a limit of keepers. My new rod is working awesome, now just need to upgrade my reel.
