    Winter vacation idea

Wife and I are thinking about somewhere with cabins and snowmobiles. Don’t really want the guided trail rides. More of here’s a map of trails and have fun. Trailhead access to meals and anything else we might need. Anybody have any recommendations?

    Thanks

I’ve never been to Estes Park in the winter but I’ve been told that you can rent snowmobiles in the winter by the day or half day. Definitely some beautiful country around there and cabins everywhere.

We did this with four families years ago. Small town of Pitkin Colorado at the end of a valley. Snow mobile rentals delivered and picked up on a day rental basis. We rode up into the mountains in several directions. Had the Quartz Creek Lodge all to ourselves.
Colorado mountains and aspen groves become a gorgeous backdrop for a wide range of activities! Find a place to stay and browse our adventure section!

Drove over to Crested Butte for a day with ice skating, horse and wagon ride and shopping.

Just did a trip like you're talking about last winter.

Cheap flights into Rapid City and there's plenty to see around the area. Casinos in Deadwood, Mt. Rushmore, snow skiing, decent restaurants and the Governor is pretty dang Hot!

We did 250+ miles in 2 days on snowmobile.

Thanks guys, keep them coming. Anyone done Yellowstone tours in winter? I know that’s a guided trip, but looks to be a great way to see the park.

Michigan has thousands and thousands of open to the public land, miles and miles of snowmobile trails. And lots of snow.

Centennial, Wyoming. My sister did exactly that with the snowmobiles. I can ask exactly who she used but she just googled somebody up so I'm sure you'd fine the same. Ski place is 10 minutes away also.

Did mountain snowmobile tour in Taos a couple of winters ago - incredible!

Yellowstone has great snowmobiling in the winter.
