Was ready for opening weekend and then....

Nothing like being at your own place to hunt your first opener 3 days before opening day to have your wife call and say her truck won't run and tell you about family drama. Packed up and came home. Good luck to the rest of you. Maybe next week.

Man, that sounds like my luck lately. It’s hard to get excited like I used to when every time I turn around, I get kicked in the gut

I'd tell her to buy a new truck, and be sitting in a tree in the morning.

Depending on distance I would run home and get truck going and beat it back to the lease

Family drama, she would be on her own

I know how that goes! I got to New Mexico on my elk hunt. When I got there, I wanted to email my wife to tell her I made it. She had sent me an email saying the A/C was out. I gave her the a/c man's phone number.
A few years back, I was leaving for South Dakota pheasant hunt and 2 hours before I left my refrigerator went out. I had to unload one of my ice chest and leave it with my wife. Told her to go buy a new one.

Long season bro. This is not the time to push all your chips in. Be patient. It will pay off.

Yeah, but a handy neighbor would have solved the situation too.

Come on gentleman, please don’t put hunting before your family. Those deer aren’t going anywhere!

Luckily it was an easy fix. Hopefully she tips the " mechanic" tonight! Lol. I bought this place last year and wanted to be in a tree in the morn. It's all good, it didn't leave her stranded and I will be hunting next week. Then to Kansas in Nov!
