Turkey feather arrow rest?

Finally got my Bear Kodiak in….beautiful bow and I will post pictures later.

Anyway, this is a commemorative/throwback edition that has a yellow leather wrapped grip and a feather arrow rest.

I’m not familiar with this type of rest…..is it a good rest or should I remove it and shoot off the shelf ?

I’ve had one on my recurve for years and like it a lot. Bought at Three Rivers

There are three feathers. Do I pick a groove or just shoot closest to the riser?

Not sure if I’m answering the question you’re asking but the outside of the three feathers is slightly taller so the arrow nestles up against the riser
