Funny you say that. I hunted hard for a very long time to kill a deer like this. I have absolutely noticed my drive has gone way down. I am hoping when I finally find the next up and coming giant I’ll get that fire lit again in me to grow em and kill him. My daughter is a couple years away from starting to get on the trigger so that’ll let me get excited if not!

I think you meant, "presuming." And yes, I did, wrongfully so. I presumed based upon the statement (something to the effect) "this was his dad." I would think the only way you might know that would be if deer were managed.

It’s just from watching deer grow up. Thousands and thousands of trail camera pics. Seeing deer in person. Just noticing the same genetics. It was one hell of a ride watching him grow up from a baby.

Cool addition to the story is I was gifted one side of his sheds from the year before I killed him and both sides from the year before that. The jumps he took are incredible. He was a once in a lifetime buck. And I couldn’t be more proud of him and the way it played out.
