Default Which tradbow are you taking to Prom?

That's right, who's the main squeeze? With the opener a couple weeks away, y'all oughta know by now. Tell us the details of your go to recurve or longbow for this season!

I'll be rolling with the TallTines Stickflinger, as many of y'all know. 66", 50@32", rattle can camo, shooting full length Easton Carbon Legacy 500's, with 200 grain Iron Will Wide's or 1 1/4" VPA 3 blades, depending on my mood.

Mines easy (way I like my prom dates, lol).
Only have one. SWA Spyder XL.

It'll play back up to my Obsession Phoenix though!

Taking my bear 50th anniversary Kodiak takedown for opener. 56” #50, it just suits the couple stands I’ve got perfect. Worked great last year and I’m sure it will again this year. I’ll change it up after I get some blood on it.

Not sure what happened but earlier this year I lost my feel/confidence shooting my Bob Lee recurve. On the other hand, even after a lengthy lay-off I get dialed in pretty quick with my ol’ reliable 50# Sarrels Blueridge SR so that’s what I’ll be toting to the blind

It’ll be my new riser old limbs Primal Tech longbow for the opener.

She’s 42@29, so right at 40# for me. Arrows are .500 FMJs with a 150gr German Kinetic broadhead on the business end. That pig in the first pic was within a week of when I first got her back.

Next up will be my selfbow with wood arrows and 125gr Ace broadheads.

I am rolling with the Bob Lee hardcore 48@28 Black eagle instinct arrows, with the Palmer extreme cut broadheads. I cant go the first weekend, going to go for about 6 days starting on Oct 8th. With all the recent rain in the Hill Country, all of my good bucks have went MIA only does, and Turkey hitting my feeder consistently. The first one that gives me a good shot is getting lobbed at. I have some outstanding gobblers coming into my feeders, I am shooting at that also, if I get a shot. I want one flying on my wall so Mama can complain in takes up to much space.

I'll cycle the two PTs. I like killing with them both. Here in Missouri I'm working with the 50@27 three piece and wood arrows. We'll see which one is hot come opening weekend there. Don't know for sure which one but know for sure it will be a Primal Tech.

Taking the Super Kodiak 55#@28”. So for me it’s around 47-48#.

Very comfortable to shoot and I’ve got things dialed in fairly well

Black eagle instinct 500’s with a 100 grain collar and 150 grain wasp sharpshooters.

Not sure it much matters. Have cell cam at my feeder that has taken over 1000+ pics since July 4th. Grand total of 5 deer and 1 hog in those pics. None in the last 4 weeks. Looked promising, but afraid it's the worst spot I've ever hunted.

Now there are a few Boone and Crockett coons that might need whacking!

Yeah Corey it's like that camo PT. It's so easy to kill with. I have prettier PTs. But for some reason I can't get the animals to understand they are better off being killed by the pretty bow. But they show up for the camo bow. Dunno.

I have a theory about this... ugly bows just kill more critters!

*Ugly is subjective, and relative to the fancy stuff we usually shoot*

I have several off the shelf and more custom bows. Wish I could take my Schafer silvertip, but probably be a Kanati instead. Old age and bad shoulders helps me decide.

Default rig this season

Here's my rig for the season - hoping to get my first big game tradbow kill this year!

Palmer Classic Recurve
45# @ 28", 60"
Easton Axis Traditional 400's with 125gr Steelforce broadhead

Got a new string for it a week ago and have been getting it settled in and tuned up the last few evenings. I think it's good to go!

Going to shoot 1 arrow a day now to focus on shooting 1 perfect arrow in prep for the hunt.

I'm goin with the selfbow. My uncle roughed it out years ago before he died. My dad (aka my uncle's brother) has had it on the bow rack since he passed about 15 years ago. I recently completed it. Shoots a 650 grain wood good enough.

62" Bob Lee BlackHawk 40#@ 28 so probably 45ish at my draw. Day 6 HD 400's with a 100gr outsert and 175gr Day6 heads. After seeing y'all's pics there's no way I'm posting pics of my groups but we're in the lungs at 20... Usually lol. I've been shooting a bow since '96 and toyed around with a borrowed long bow last year and caught the bug. I'll be in a tree in Oklahoma on Sunday morning. Anything with a pulse is a target!
