Finished up a small batch . Right at 12 lbs . Maple and black pepper. This is off of one of my pigs we raised .

Hey Strummer, your picture above made me think of this!
 I've been making my own bacon for the last several months. Where and how much are the bellies you're purchasing? The last belly I bought from HEB was $3.79/lb. Still considerably cheaper than even the cheap bacon.

This thread got me to thinking that I wanted to make my own bacon so I did.
It turned out great. Far better than store bought bacon but I want more flavor! |
