Best 55 gr .223 ammo for pigs and deer

Slow 1:12 twist so 55 gr is it. The heavier ones just don't fly as well.

I like Barnes TSX and Hornady SP

Any others worth trying?

Been using Sierra GameKing BT’s for as long as I can remember. Actually, I can’t recall using any other bullet cause I have been more than happy with their performance.

When i had a 223 used the 55 grain hornady sp. they came in a 50 round box. shot a few pigs in the shoulder and none of them went very far.

Had terrible luck on hogs with TSX. Just pass thrus with little holes. Dont think 223 has enough speed for them.

My 1:12 like 53 grain vmax. Groups well and pink mists prairie dogs. Never shot a deer or hog with it but I figure a well place shot would work

Federal Power Shock blue box killed a big boar the other day over 200 yrds hard quartering away 1 shot didn't go 40 yards. It shoots .5" groups out of my bolt gun

Stick with the 55 Hornady SP. That is a nasty pill. I am always amazed at the amount of damage that bullet delivers. I have a hard time believing there is anything better.
