This deer is AR legal, right???

This buck is noticeably larger bodied than any deer I've seen on our place this year. He still bullies the other bucks off the feeder, even though his horns are mostly gone. I plan to let a youngster shoot him if we get the chance over the Thanksgiving holiday. IMO he should have much more mass on the main beams that he apparently had, so I'm thinking cull him. Every tine he had is now missing. Is he legal as a spike since he's broken off? Sure don't want to get a kiddo in trouble for misinterpreting the AR rules.

Unless there is a point coming off the back of that left side he is legal

Is this the first year youve seen him? If not maybe he going to be a older mature good buck next year. I would hate to take out a mature deer not knowing for sure which deer it is since it takes 6-7 years for him to mature.

Like Cwill said. If no point on the back side. I would keep this picture to show game warden if it came down to that.

Thanks for the confirmation. Yes, I will definitely keep the picture just in case. I understand the thought of letting him go, but he’s so thinned horned I can’t see him ever being any good. Thanks all.

That’s my kind of deer. I like the jacked up ones

But yes, legal as mentioned above

                    Bingo!

Let the kiddo grow up and DECIDE if he wants to be a TROPHY hunter. Make sure he has some fun getting there.

If he is broken off, not legal
