This time of year we like to say it's hot enough to fry an egg.... so, that's the target: fried eggs (in a skillet, not on a sidewalk, though).
Target: Draw or print out the one pictured below on 8.5x11 inch paper. Mine is kind of oval about 8 inches in the wide direction and about 6-3/4 in the narrower measure. Eggs are about 3" to 3-1/2", with yolks about 1" or so. The handle hole is 1-1/2" long and 3/8" at the widest part.
Shoot the first three arrows of a day from 14 yards (7 for kids) using any stance, trying to get the highest point total for a day. Up to 4 days' tries allowed. Highest single day total wins following week's call.
Scoring is as follows:
10 points for the handle hole;
5 points for a yolk;
3 points for the white;
1 point off an egg, but in the pan;
Negative 2 points for missing pan (or off paper).
Only restriction is ONLY ONE SCORING ARROW PER EGG. However, luck is a factor in that I don't care which egg you're intending to hit, you still get points for what you actually hit. After all, the whole scoring area is pretty much the size and shape of a kill zone for most game. Touching any line scores in the shooter's favor.
Good luck, stay cool and have fun!
