Front shoulder, its whats for dinner.

Put this front shoulder in the crockpot along with a can of stewed tomatoes, potatoes, and carrots at 7 this morning. Took it out at noon and the meat fell off the bone. I shredded the meat and returned it to pot to simmer until supper time. Going to add some corn and beans here in a while.
Gonna be a good meal tonight!

Looking good, maybe you should cook for our Hog hunt.

The stewed tomatoes, or red wine really help tenderize the meat. I learned with a crock pot that low heat, long time, and proper choice of liquids = good eats!

        Good luck,

        Dave

I will cook either a stew or chili IF you promise to make your world famous Jambalaya!

Yes, the stewed tomatoes are a key ingredient in just about everything I cook.

It wouldn't be a TBH Trad Hog Hunt without my jambalaya, accompanied by some Yuengling.

When I was still working, my wife would cook the shoulders in a cooking bag with onion soup in with it. When done she would shred the meat real fine and make a sandwich spread just like tuna fish but use the shoulder meat. My favorite sandwich ever.

Yuengling huh, I have never seen that around here. Had it a bunch up in the northwest areas though.
