    Knife I.D.

Cleaning up some gear and came across this knife I got while cleaning out my old mans stuff after he passed. It says Herters on it and some town in MN I can’t make out. Anyone know model/name?

I think it's a Hudson Bay Skinning knife.

Looks like a beaver fleshing knife to me.

Blade looks like a Green River Buffalo Skinner, but the handle is wrong.

Yep, that’s it. Although mine has no label on the blade and brass “rivets” in the handle. What do you call those anyway? I know rivet can’t be right.

                    I think it's a rivet.
