Default 2021 Coyote Kill Thread!!!

Going out early in the morning to bust a coyote or three. Hope to bring in the new year the right way by knocking some fur down. Let's get after 'em.

On a side note, goodbye 2020. You really did suck! May 2021 bring us many, many coyotes to kill. Hopefully it's just all around better in every way. But mostly lots of coyotes to shoot. That's important.

Got my 1st one of the new year. Should have at least two more but it seems like my luck got worse with the new year. Worked my tail off for the one I did get. Shotgunned her at 20 yards today. Hopefully that broke my streak of bad luck.

We had several corn eating coyotes this year. It was strange! This one hung around to long for my liking. The deer had a front row seat.

#7 Foul language after the shot. Shot is around 1:50 mark. I had no luck the previous 3 trips so I was super excited when I got this one. Ended up weighing 47 LBS.

I almost had one yesterday afternoon. He got close but would not stop and I couldn`t close the deal. I shot a pig instead. It was my first ever blood trail in the snow in Texas. Pretty easy to follow.

Killed one in Kansas tonight,205 yards,6.5 Creedmoor,95 grain V-Max. Great bullet for saving fur if you have a 6.5 Creedmoor and you want to do such a thing.

Spotted this pretty female as we drove down the highway, she was on state land.
Spouse made a great 200+ yd shot with the .204 in some heavy winds.
She look s ratty in the pic but has a great silvery color and nice fur. Got her boarded yesterday and hope to sell this weekend.

Walk me through this for my own edification:

•Spot coyote
•Pull off highway and park
•Is there a fence? Do you just get out and shoot?

88- finally got on the board...

Headed out this afternoon to do a little coyote calling. Have t had much time this winter and the few times I have gone I wasn’t successful. Figured this bitter cold would make them pretty hungry. Unfortunately the winds were barreling at 25 mph with blowing snow so it was pretty tough conditions. 6 degrees and windchills at -15 to -25 was brutal. I actually used my duck layout blind for a bit of shelter from the wind. And I had layered well, never actually felt cold at all. About 5 the winds lightened up some and I was set up over a dry, brushy lake bottom (playa lake- hence my name). At about the 9 min mark I was fiddling with the call trying to change sounds, but it was markedly difficult because the LCD screen was dim in the cold and the buttons were hard to press with gloved hands. I had finally switched to a female coyote challenge call and look up to see a yote standing out in the open at 60 yards, she had snuck in when I had my head down. I got on the gun and let it work.

I had hoped for video from my new ATN scope, I thought it was set to record at recoil, but must not have been.

She had a nice pelt, Mother Nature must have known this arctic blast was coming this winter!
