Hey Charlie, when does the rut peak at your ranch?

I'm planning a trip out to our place, but trying to figure when to go. First or second week of December.

The rut is happening right now at our place. It usually starts around the third week of November. I’m right down the road from Palmetto.

I would’ve been there all week, but I’ve been visiting my in-laws north of Tyler. I just got home today, and I am headed to Rocksprings tomorrow afternoon.

Saw a rooster pheasant walking on the shoulder of 41 about a half mile east of Garven Store on Saturday afternoon.

Just this morning saw literally the EXACT same thing!

Hunted Tuesday and Wednesday.
The deer have been on their feet a ton since the 11th.
Shot this buck on Wednesday morning.
He was on every inch of the ranch over the past 4 days.
We saw mature deer every hunt.

Anyone down that way right now? Radar looks pretty nasty. I want to go down tomorrow morning but I am worried about the status of the roads.

Hearing Campwood was hit pretty hard last night. Heading down that way this afternoon to do a little axis/pig hunting this weekend...in between thunderstorms.

Getting rain fairly consistently North of Leakey....another inch today! Cameras show everything to be super green....the animals need all of the help they can get after the deep freeze!
