Ok, I have 2 bucks I'm on the fence about. One of them has a broken brow tine and the other is just a main frame 8. I'm trying to figure out the age on them and whether to let them live another year. I'm in a very heavily hunted area in East Texas, but am curious as to your thoughts on age and if I should harvest either of these deer. Or take my chances and let them walk?
I'm gonna separate the deer into 2 posts. The broke brow deer is first |

The first buck is young, I would pass him. The second buck is mature and definitely worth shooting

Yep. Pass on the first buck and try to get on the second one. First buck is just a 3 yo. Second one is mature.

What age estimate would you put on the 8?
Also do you think he will break 120? |

Man that first buck will be a stud in a few years, but that second buck I would have a hard time passing.

Do what makes you happy. However, don’t shoot a buck just because you think your neighbors might. If everyone did that, no deer would make it.

Really good 8 I’m gonna say score about 120 I hunt Tyler County and they can get bigger but he’s mature and that’s a good average deer to be proud of Ha especially if you get him in the day light hrs.

Let both go if you want to risk it. I guess depends more on the pressure where you are at.
But if having to choose what to do RIGHT NOW, let (1st) one walk and bust the (2nd) one. |
