Wish I could post video. Hate to loose this place when the scrape is about to get good. Hate loosing the money more though...

Hope to put a camera back on this one today. Got at least 4 bucks in the immediate area. Yesterday this mock scrape Sunni so bad you would gag within 10’ of it

I was trimming some brush around a feeder pen Friday that included some grape vines. I thought of this thread and saved a piece of vine to try this with. I haven't set it out yet but will probably do so later this week and put a camera on it.

Was a spike using it too. Every buck on this property is using it. IT STINKS!!!!

24”-28”ish to the bottom and 3/4”-1” diameter vine or limb. They like some weight/resistance

All mine this year are grape vine. Years past I’ve used red oak limbs hung in ... whatever and had great results

Owner told me 100ish.... my onx says 83ish. It’s been for sale but I knew it wouldn’t at asking price. Apparently got new realtor that told him he was crazy too. Changed price and sold almost immediately

In all honesty if it went for $1k an acre I wouldn’t own it. Lol. And they paid far more than that

Sorry I won’t post pics, BUT...... “Main Event” has returned and has been at the mock scrap I made to find him!!! Minimum 7.5 yo and still a main frame 10!

Also the buck I wanted Lola to hunt is still checking in along with another mature 8 that he was paired with in velvet. They ain’t friends no more... but on same property (I’d have a hard time passing either myself!)

Been a very interesting week. The Deck has been shuffled, if you ain’t getting pics now on those scrapes, I’d abandon ship and try else where

Set up a new mock scrape on new property that lease mate on cottonmouth aquired.... didn’t take long to find a mature buck!

I did this last night in 2 similar close spots. My main spot.

One is in the food plot field, and the other on a trail leading up to it. I put a wireless camera on the trail. I pee'd in both

Your right, I feel like a fool for not having high dollar cameras. But the one that I had stolen the other day only set me back 28$

Scrape is getting action still but slower than normal.... probably die to a scrape under every branch that a buck can scrape under, lol.

.... and pigs. In all seriousness, I’m about to loose my mind over hogs. I can’t kill no more, and they just keep punishing


Special thanks to all my neighbors that realized season is in a few weeks and fired up their non penned feeders!!! Hope y’all have a wonderful season. Course it never effects anyone when you put the feeder 50 yards off line, so the 5,641 hogs you draw in at night and don’t kill can enjoy my pastures, hay fields and plots. Good times!

WOW some big pigs too! I got a wireless camera on my grapevine and scrape. Very little action but bucks are chasing and out moving hard

I tried this on my place In August and I haven’t gotten deer to use it yet. Our rut is in December so they haven’t really started scraping yet.

Man I guess I need some private lessons, I can't get a deer to touch my scrapes. I don't really have any heavily traveled type pinch points so maybe thats the problem.

Location is key. It don’t draw them in, it patterns them by a specific location. But they need to be something they would have used anyway (imho)

Gotcha, I have them near hand corn spots. I have used my own urine, then I installed some of the drip dispensers. Still nothing yet but I also have not seen any natural scrapes around and not much on rubs. This area is different than most places I've hunted. I have hunted low density areas before and still see this activity. I have been here 3 years and have seen very little rubs and scrapes over that time. Trying to pattern deer movement here is also almost impossible. Totally random, i'm just trying to turn the odds in my favor a little.

They just like the brush hanging there better I guess. Its just a tangled wall of bush they are working and scraping against.

My scrape is on the east side of the trail by about 6 inches and the natural on is on the west side of the trail by about 6 inches.

Could be the bobcat I have on camera jumping up and playing with my vine like a cat toy keeping them off it?

If there is a road through the woods or an inside or outside corner of a field, those are good places to start. Outside field edge are the best.

Try some Anise Oil, you can get it in the grocery store, drip it on the licking branch and in the scrape. Put it in a scrape dripper. Vanilla is also a good attractant to use in a dripper.

What is anise oil? Never heard of it especially as an attractant.

Correct. The easy ones to go find now... are a flash in the pan. They may not visit those but a few times

Anise oil is used in baking. It is in the baking section, right next to the vanilla. Deer love it. You can however use your own urine.

Sounds like a good location.

I actually had a scrape pop up at one of my stand spots. I had a mock scrape about 15yds away but I guess it wasn’t in a good enough spot.
