I was never good at arts and crafts...

The problem was always, "too much glue"... Now as an adult, I haven't changed much. Too much glue and beading out as I put on fletchings. Some things never change!

Going to try using less now. Not sure if I have it in me.

errr.... It gave me anxiety only putting three dots. I went with a 5 dot approach...because every fiber of my being was looking at 3 and saying, "Clay, that's not enough. More glue, Clay. More glue, NOW!"

        Thank you for the advice!

Edit... 5 was much better, but a tiny mount of bleed out still. Going for 3 and spreading... I had already started another arrow with my "old ways" so this one is ok to experiment on.

I have some solvent that deactivates CA glue. Can I reuse vanes if I am able to remove the glue? I'll test these first 3 out first and see how much these tiny beads affect groups... but hoping to see if there is a good back up plan. Thanks for the help again, gents.

Fletch tape for years. Quick no mess easily applied win win. I was told once by Viking “we don’t carry it because it will come loose in the Texas heat when applied to al or carbon”. NEVER has happened to me

I apply as small a bead as I can and strike it off with a tooth pick been working for me for 40 years (no telling how long it worked for Earl Hoyt before he showed me).

I put it on the fletch, and then remove any excess with a toothpick--

I had a toothpick when I started but can only remove one side due to the jib and magnet being in the way. The last fletching (going for 4 here) is also a pain and impossible to get to due to the first fletching I put on rotating and in the way. Appreciate all the advice, folks. Thank you.

I think rivets may be the answer. :-)

Almost as riveting as “oh I ripped my little cooler!”
