Nothing wrong with gadwall as table fare. Those knocking them are probably "wrap em' in bacon w/ jalapeno" types

IMO a fully plumed Gaddy is one of the prettiest birds especially when they have the purple tint to their head.

A gaddy tastes like any other puddle duck. Learn to cook them and they can be good.

                    My fav! Fajita ducks!

The fish are biting, and there's hogs to be kill-t. Gotta go!

                        great recipe for gadwall:
season with sage, marjoram, salt and black pepper.
Place on a cedar board and bake for 45 minutes @ 375°
Scraped duck off of board and throw away.

                        Chew on board.

I would bet anyone $100, if I put a slice of mallard, pintail, gray duck and a spooner together, cooked the same way, you wouldn’t be able to guess which is which.

I wouldn't take that bet. Depending on where the bootlip came from. One from the marsh aint so good. A rice field Spooner will eat
