Default Monday Night Episode…What Happened Here?

Shot this little boar a couple weeks ago. Seems pretty obvious what happens. Or does it? He’s got 50 yards to make the fence. Does he make it and gone forever? This one is a great example of how the eyes can deceive you. Does he go down at the end or did he take off, never to be seen again? Did the arrow make Pass through? What do y’all see/think?

63 lbs. 454 gr. Gravedigger hybrid Easton Injexion

Not a pass through. He’s dead. I couldn’t tell what happened at the end.

I see broadhead stopping in opposite shoulder maybe and pig thrashing around like they do when they are running on fumes

No pass through. He died. Kinda looks like he slid along the fence and hopefully he was laying at the fence.

It sure didn't look like a pass through, since the lighted nock appears to stay in the animal for at least the first few yards. It did look like he made some kind of lunge right at the end of the video. Not sure if that was a dying lunge or something else.

My idea of pass thru is broadhead breaks hide on opposite side of entry. Complete pass thru is arrow flying or falling out the opposite side of entry either on the shot or as the animal runs off. That’s just always how I’ve worded or thought of it. Doesn’t mean I’m right. Lol

I couldn’t begin to make an educated guess, but I found it interesting to note that the animal seemed to react a millisecond or two before the projectile appeared to make contact. Not sure if this is typical or coincidental. Or it may just be that I need new glasses.

I believe the pig did die. Kind of looked like he was flopping at the end. Not sure if it poked a hole in offside shoulder.

noticed as well. Is that just instinct or what? Looks like a close shot, and a good shot FishnD.

I think the end is his death point. I find lots of animals stop, then take a right or left turn at the final seconds. It’s like they try to make one final run as the tunnel opens up.

Dead pig but I think he made it across the fence. He was still moving quick with that last surge.

Appears it was a touch forward. Thinking he stopped and tried to get the arrow out. Ram off never to be seen again.

But you know I don’t kill things with a bow

I’m in the dead pig/ no pass through camp. BUUUUT my history has proven that I have a pretty low batting average lately on these threads.

Looked like a good shot. Close on the pass through, although I have always liked the broadhead to remain inside as animal runs, thus continuing to do damage. Walk up to where you last saw him in video and you should see him. My thoughts.

Bam!! Those who said this are correct. Texan 16 didn’t guess the pass through or not though. There was definite pass through.

Entry!!

Exit.

No heart. Got lung though.

Good going FND. I always count a pass thru as if I get to use the arrow again. I find usually when they run off with it, I don't get to use again.

Lol. Good thinking. I won’t be using that arrow again. Broadhead did survive.

Well I got 50% on that test

I figured broadhead was lodged in offside shoulder the way it looked when he ran off

Glad you got him

There was a curve, so you got a 75.

Excellent video and discussion Jeff! Wish I had the patience to do these... I've got all my shots on video since 1995! Some great, some not so great... One of my coolest ones I did just last season at the end of the year (in Feb... MLD)... Shot an 8 point management deer and got the shakes so bad it felt like my first shot on anything!! Deer died on camera in 17 seconds... I couldn't even text my buddies right away to tell them I was going to need help loading him up... So clicked on Siri... She could not recognize my voice I was shakin' so hard!! But then again, I guess that's why we do this!!
Anyway sure do enjoy yours and Smarts what happened here videos!!
