Waydago!! That's a fine, fine buck right there!! Congratulations on getting your target buck!! And don't make excuses for HOW you got him!! He's a buck worthy of killin'. You liked him, and should be proud of him!! I salute you and the apparent good shot you made on him!!
Thanks Salt. I wasn't really making an excuse just recapping an earlier thread about my upcoming surgery. Believe me, I would've much rather been hunting with a bow but I have no shame in drillin' one with lead too! [emoji1]
Side note: I watched this deer the 1st week of archery (when I could still shoot my bow) for 45 min at 22 yds but he never came out from behind the feeder to give me a shot. It was excruciating. After that he disappeared for a few weeks then made a couple of sporadic nocturnal appearances on my cams but nothing during daylight. Then the rut came and he vanished. He showed back up 3 days ago and has been regular each morning at the feeder. He had no intention of coming to the feeder this morning tho. He was headed somewhere and never even looked toward the feeder. He just chose a trail that gave me a shot.
I am on your side.. Sleep is real important!!
The hunt wouldn't be the same if your just too tired..
Let it happen as it is suppose too.. If i am tired , i sleep in.
The hunt and taking an animal is as great as him, needs every bit you have in you, he deserves your best..
He ended up going 143 2/8
89 4/8 down
53 6/8 up
Not bad for only 14 1/2" wide.
His beams were 22 4/8" and 23"
G2's were 9 7/8 and 9 1/8
G3's were 8 6/8 and 9"
