Do you think people in general have gotten soft?

As in unable to handle physical labor? I do realize that not everyone is built for it and there are those who are allergic to work. If you look at folks back in the 1950’s and earlier, hard work seemed to be more common.

My boss pays very well for ranch and farm work. And even with good pay it’s hard to find men who can handle the work out here. Most only last a week or less. Yeah you do have to be kind of tough to endure it all, I suppose. Some of the cattle are quite mean. Admittedly, it can be pretty dangerous at times. Horseback work is definitely not for the weak. I’ve been hurt but I shook it off and kept going. Just makes me wonder at times what the future is going to be like with the outbreak of metrosexuals or whatever they’re called. (girly men) LOL

Yes, but it’s a sign of how amazing the society we have created is. You don’t have to be hard to live and live well right now. A major problem with our poor is obesity, that says a lot about how incredible this country is.

That being said, anyone who thinks it will always be this way is ignorant of history. Everything is cyclical.

          Hard times make hard men

          Hard men make good times

          Good times make soft men

          Soft men make hard times.

I saw a sign in someone's office a while back. It went something like this..."50 years ago people went home after work and went to bed. Today, they go to the gym."

I came home one day and told my step boy I got him a job at the feed store and he said he would work at McDonald's before he would do that.......

It starts in kindergarten, school tries to train them to hide their masculinity and be soft. Iv met with the principal 4 times this year alone already because my son is too "rough"...he's in kindergarten...
