I have an older 4x, a fulfield e1, MTAC 1-4, and an XTR2. No problems with any of them. I’d skip Vortex, but $500 should also buy a solid leupold. Last edited by TacticalCowboy; 01-15-2022 at 12:49 PM. |

I like burris too. I really like nikon monarch if you can find one and I guess their warranty is worthless.

Have one of these on grandson's RAR 6.5CM, and like it a lot. Especially for the price!
Burris Fullfield E1 Rifle Scope 4.5-14x 42mm Matte https://www.midwayusa.com/product/1548612225?pid=612225 Useable magnification range, side focus, decent low-light performance (shot a doe with it in the twilight of an evening hunt this year), light at 15.3oz, glass etched reticle, lifetime warranty. IMHO, perfect match for the compact RAR it sits on. Stu |

On the cheaper end of things, Simmons aetec 2.8-10x44. Between me and my dad we have 4 of them. On 270 win,30-06,243,7mm rem mag. All have been flawless. I like them more so than both my Nikon pro staff

I would take a look at the Athlon Argos BTR gen II for around $450 or the Midas BTR for around $600 if you wanted to stretch your budget.

Leupold would be my suggestion. Don’t be afraid to buy used either. Lots of good deals to be had if you keep an eye out for a few weeks. I’d stay away from the lower end Vortex models. |

I'd go with nest Leupold I could afford. I've tried a bunch of stuff and just can't seem to beat Leupold dollar for dollar.

Anything over 10x power should have a parallax adjustment feature. Nothing better IMO than a Leupold but not likely to find one with adjustable parallax for under $500. More like $800.

look at the new Bushnell Engage scopes. I picked up a 4-10x 50mm last spring. I really like it ... very clear optics. 30mm tube. They run from $250 - 500.

We just went with a Meopta Optika5 in a 4-20x50 and are pretty happy with it. They make it in a 4-20x44. It is a 1” tube. Both fall in your price range from Camera Land if they’re in stock. They’re on sale right now.

Trijicon Accupoint 2.5-10x56 usually can find at or just stay over $500. By far my favorite hunting scope.

Great to hear you went with the Meopta. I have the same scope and it delivers way above its price point, which is exactly what Meopta is known to do.

You might want to also consider Maven. You never hear much about them but people that do have their products really like them. Here's two that might work for you:

I have a fixed 6X on my Belgium Browning BLR .308 Win and really like it. I have taken 1 deer with it in TX. The rifle just hates really cold weather. While I like the fixed power scopes, I am just not a fan of them for hunting any areas where you might have a shot inside of 50 yards. Last year, I took a doe at 20 yards and I was thankful I could crank down the magnification to 3X.

The best Leupold you can afford. Like others said don't be afraid to buy used. There warranty is amazing. There is a facebook group called optics buy sell trade. I have bought and sold several higher end scopes on there all with no issues. There are some dealers on there that sell new for way less than they are supposed to per the manufacturer. They just won't advertise the price.
