    Deer mount falling off wall

An6 of you ever had a deer mount fall of the wall and break an antler off?

Had this happen last week, and guess I will take to my normal contact for mount8ng in Houston.

PSA, make sure you have a good drywall mounting system.

Had more than one repaired and look as good as new. I like the french cleat types of mounts for my deer. 4-6" is plenty big.

……uhhhh…..last thing in this house would be a cat.

They are barely allowed in the yard.

I learned as a single man, not to hang them over the head of the bed.

I learned as a married man to hang them there. She literally pointed and said “anywhere but there”. Over the fireplace it went.

I heard a loud crash the other day and my first thought was that one of my mounts had fallen off the wall.

Luckily it was just my wife falling down the stairs.

Get a stud finder, will solve this issue.

My boys were wrestling in the family room and things got heated this weekend. One of them knocked my first archery harvest off the wall and smashed his nose. No big deal i just rehung it. No antlers were broken though.

I often thought about one falling that hung over a chair that someone was sitting in. They may get gored. I try to ensure a secure mounting to the wall.

I’ve never had one fall…yet but then again, I always mount to a stud.
