i bought a hustler 52" with kawasaki 23 hp about 4 years ago,, ,mostly because the dealer was close and had full service center,,, now after using it for that time i know i made a great decision because it has been trouble free and has held up very well on my very rough ground with plenty of rocks, sticks, roots, crawfish mounds and occasionally some thick grass to mow,,,, very pleased hustler owner here!

Last Thursday I went with my trailer to Hill Country Power to pick up a Skag. After talking with those guys for about an hour, I paid for and loaded up the Gravely 48. After mowing my place the last 10 years with a Cub Cadet rider, this dang thing is a DREAM!

Wasn’t impressed with Ferris, so I went with a Scag, and I didn’t look back...
You won’t see many crews who run mowers for a living using Ferris...
There are many good mowers out there. If you are looking at a 48”, I assume you don’t have a lot to mow. Scag, Hustler, John Deere, or Gravely would be my pick.
