This is an old poem I wrote a few years back. It popped up on my Facebook memories. I’ve shared it here before. Just thought I would share it again. I hope y’all enjoy it. Merry Christmas TBH. God bless.
Merry CHRISTmas.
As I sit here thinking, on this silent night,
counting all my blessings, I felt the need to write.
The Christmas tree is shining bright, with all of it's decor.
Presents packed beneath it tight, no room to fit one more.
I saw kids lined up at the mall,
to get their picture taken with Santa Claus.
As I shopped from store to store, I noticed something and paused.
There's an "X" where Your name should be on every storefront sign.
They use the occasion of Your birthday to make another dime.
So I continued through the mall, looking for Your name.
Everywhere I found an "X", every store the same.
It seems so unreal to me, but yet I know it's true.
The World has no room at Christmas anymore for You.
Just a mention of Your name, and you'll be called a geek.
Try to spread the Gospel, and you're just a Jesus freak.
I know what it's all worth, and that's alright with me.
I'd rather be a freak on Earth, then live with You for eternity.
I'm not perfect Lord, and I've never claimed to be.
But I know I'm forgiven, cause Your Son died for me.
We hear stories of Santa's reindeer, the snowman, and such.
It's sad how baby Jesus isn't talked about as much.
Well if you wonder what my point is, there's really just one reason.
To remind everyone that Jesus is why we celebrate the season!
