Well we had a good one to go get out of the woods this evening. One of the guys killed muley, probably a low to mid 50's deer, we'll put a tape on him tomorrow. Chicken and dumplings for supper, and celebratory whiskeys after ripping the britches off the ol' buck. We're going to bed, it's been a long two days.

Well I'm all set, and it's cracking daylight. I'm in a pretty neat spit this morning. I'm sitting on the north side of a creek on a cut corn field with a cover crop of cereal rye, chicory, turnips, radishes, and winter peas. There is a small, but active bedding directly south of me across the creek. I can shoot the edge of bedding. Lots of buckes check this area throughout the day.

Dad is set up where muley was killed last night, as we saw a shooter in there when we went to get muley. He's also in a creek with wheat over cut corn to his north and bedding south and west

Another fella is hunting a big wooly thicket with a pond behind him.

I see a deer. Be back shortly.

Fork horn, cruised across the field. He had places to be, and didn't hang around.

Anyhow we are hunting a SSE wind that is supposed to turn around lunch time back out of the north. The plan is to get down, grab a bite, and go back to where I saw the big buck Friday.

                  My set for the morning.

Got down about 940 and used the bathroom, then headed to the new spot. When I got there ,2 big bucks we're squared off in the CRP so I went back to the house. Didn't want to spook them.

I gave them an hour and just now snuck in here. I saw my target buck on the way in, pretty sure he didn't spook, but he was headed the other way. Hopefully he'll make his way back up here this evening.

My set. Standing beans to west, timber and creek north, east, and south

This evening was slow, and my phone died. Had 1 spike come in and eat a little hand corn, and one little 8 cruise by. Evening was slow for the whole party.

On another note, muley measured in at 156
