Why do people steal SD cards?

I’ve hunted the same private ground for almost 20 years and never had an issue with SD cards being stolen. Checked my cameras this weekend and had two cards missing. What’s the deal?

Poachers. They don’t want you to have any evidence.

I suspect someone walked in front of them that wasn’t supposed to be there.

They were poaching and you took their photo?

        Big buck in the area?

        Lucky your camera was there

Maybe a buddy trying to photoshop sasquatch or some farm raised pet deer to pull a prank on you.

This or poachers not wanting to be identified are the only two likely scenarios.

Y’all got any advice on ways to catch poaches or get rid of them? Obviously I can get the game warden involved but don’t want too unless I have too.

Cell camera. I’m looking at their face before the card is taken. I hate a thief.

Yup. I’m wondering why the cameras weren’t stolen as well if that were the case.

Another camera maybe on the trail or well hidden.

Put game cameras hidden facing your actual game cameras. Or get cell cams.

One of the cards that was stolen was out of a cell camera but I didn’t have any pictures of the person. It was turned off, not sure if I need to adjust my delay on it or what
