There's no mistaking a pygmy rattlesnake.

While camping in a state park I saw my dog Echo nose to nose with a snake. We called the park ranger for assistance. In his had was his assistance. A shovel in hand a pigmy was taken out of our camp in two pieces. I ask why he didn’t just relocate it? Well according to the rules if they invaded the camp sights they must be dispatched.

Same genus, but different species. Saugs are Sistrurus catenatus and pigs are Sistrurus miliarus.

At first glance I thought it was a Timber Rattler, but it isn't. A Pygmy or a Massasauga would be a good guess.

Does it have rattles? My eye sight gets worse by the day!
