Shooting turtles?

Anybody else learn and or teach kids how to shoot by killing turtles! My daughter asked to go shoot some this evening. She's the only boy I have and a pretty good shot!

I grow up "Flipping" turtles with Dads .22mag. Hit em low and they will fly!!!

I still love shooting turtles!!! Don't know how many hundreds I've killed, but it is a great way to get good behind a gun.

Wow. Thanks for bringing up some good memories. I'm guilty of sending thousands of 22s flying towards them suckers! Oh boy, the good ol days. Heck my uncle could cook a good turtle soup too!

THIS brings back so many memories for me.

My Dad had a bird lease near Post, TX years ago. In between Dove and Quail hunts we would go to all the tanks on the lease, have lunch, fish and shoot turtles with 22's or whatever we decided to use that day. Sometimes we would take out some BIG bull frogs too.

I miss those days so long ago...happy to see some folks still do this! Good for you!!
