Here's the update:

6 people and 2 dogs been looking since daylight. I had to pull out and get on 5 hr. conference call since I missed my mtg.

My impression is that he may have nicked but nothing mortal...I hope. I couldn't find any blood, hair etc. We covered a lot of territory much of it oak bottom. The rest of the guys and dogs are still out.

Only thing confusing me is that the buck stood his ground against a dog last night when I got there. Otherwise I would think complete miss.

Jumping on phone but will keep posted if I learn more.

Well, the two old guys having a drink part is right!

Walked up on him at 5:00 and thought he was dead. Unfortunately he got up and slipped off though moving difficultly. We pulled out. Will go back in the morning. At least we know where he is.

Horrible new boss. Not what you want especially as hard as you two and your families work to raise these deer. I'm not expert but can you carry a rifle with you I case you bump him again?

Ha! A fence means nothing on 2500 acres. It's like looking for a needle in a haystack. He will need buzzards to even give him a chance if the deer isn't where he last saw him or very close to it.

Still no luck.

4 of us walked for 4 hrs with nothing.

Thanks to the power of the green screen the calvary is on the way with a dog that might change the outcome.

We may have a fence but you could lose a herd of elephants inside it. Without a significant change of luck that buck may never be seen again.
