Default Trashy Buck

Almost feels like cheating, but here is an absolute stud that lives in the woods by my neighborhood. Gotta love those suburban giants that don't feel any hunting pressure.

Shows what age can do for them if they're in a great genetic area or not.

Invite him into the garage for a beer. Close the door behind him.

I think he is actually pretty mature. I photographed him during the rut last year in my phone and looked very much older. Roman nose, swayed back etc.

Yep, looks older in last years pic. The second pic this year just looked young. Long skinny neck, long legs.

Yeah I see what you mean for sure. I think a lot of it is how he is posed mid-stride. I bet if he was standing still in that classic broadside look starting down the camera, he'd look like a totally different deer. Just goes to show how looking at a single pic can make it tough to age them.

Wow. Thanks for sharing. Forked 2s and 3ís.
Shame most deer seldom reach maturity to show their potential.

This^^^^^^^^
Most hill country counties could grow 160" bucks, regularly, if the good ones lived to be 7 or 8.. Most die at 3-4....
We need strict AR's in the hill country BAD....
