Went up and opened head gate # 3 and got the first water running in the ditch. Flow is low but should come up later in week after our little snow and rain storm coming today and tonight.

Checked the trail cam in the end of one meadow , good herd of mulies in the meadow. Mule deer number are looking pretty good right now around the meadows. Hoping to get up higher for shed hunting when we get back.

We have to be down in Texas next week for a funeral so we closed the head gate we had open for irrigation. Next week is forecast for snow and rain showers all week, meadows should get good moisture til we're back. Creek is up a little more and looking pretty good.

Cut our Texas trip short by a day to beat the new snow storm coming in.
Went up and opened up another head gate to irrigate the timothy meadow.
Looks like a small elk herd moved through, they'll be back and forth over the summer.

Sybille Canyon area, South of Laramie peak in South, central Wyoming.

Had signs of the crimson clover coming up we frost seeded before the snow.
Should be back into 50's by weekend.
Today was miserable, 20's and upslope wind with snow.

This weekend we hope to get up and look for sheds and maybe get in some fishing. Trout will be hungry in the small creek. Good browns and brookies can be caught.

Waiting to plant fall foods in June.

                      Few yard deer too.

That’s what I was thinking, somewhere in the Casper, Laramie, Rock Springs triangle. Good country !

The ranch has 2 parcels, home place and the west end. They are about 1 mile apart, another landowner in between that was once part of the west end.
The ranch house is 1 hr NE of Laramie, where we live.

Pics don't show, grass is peeking up through the snow.
We irrigate til July when meadows get cut and then put more water to it until creek gets too low in late summer. Luckily the ranch has 1886 water rights on the creek. Only the town of Wheatland can make a call on the water.

Moved the water and checked the cams. Had a different group of elk come through, tracks all down the driveway into the pasture.
Looks like one young bull in the herd.
Lots of mule deer up feeding today before the next little front moves in.

Flurrying when we left the ranch.
Took our atv up so we can possibly look for sheds on Sunday, weather permitting. North facing slopes are still pretty snowy.
Trace mineral blocks are getting heavy use so we'll put out more Sunday.

Looking favorable for shed hunting tomorrow, we hit 50 degrees already today.
Couple more pics of the elk that moved through.
