Default What Happened Here? Another Easy One (New Edition)

I shot this boar last week. My question to you is...what happened in the end? Did I find him? Or is he still running?

Video is unobstructed this time as opposed to the last few I’ve posted. That may make this a little too easy. As a hint, I will say the end result was quite unique.

So...is he dead?
Still Running?
Made it how far?
Too high in the “”void”?
Too low?
What was “unique” about the ending?
Etc...

My point as always is do your eyes deceive you or no?

And GO!

Looked maybe a little further back than you would like. Not sure you found him, still running. But, the "unique" ending is that you found the hog from last time

Great vid for sure. What is the second sound after the shot? I'm guessing you got the back of the lungs or the main artery and found him..?

Hope you found him. One thing I have learned is that if you dont punch them in the heart it makes for a tough tracking job. Those animals have a will to live like no other. Tough SOBs.

Smoked that chicken! He probably walked up that little ridge behind the feeder, turned around to look at the feeder and fell over dead!! 40 yards from the feeder.

I would think that one is a goner & didn't make it far...unless you grabbed a field point.

Knowing how many hogs you kill he is probably dead. It did look like he dropped more than they normally do so I am going to say this one got away.

Unique? He wasn't a big bugger like you like to shoot.

My last interpretation was way off. It looked like a pass through so, I will go with dead. Even though the shot looked high because he ducked, it did have a downward angle and I think it caught both lungs. But I would not put any money on my thoughts.

High back end if the lungs. Dead.

Uniquely, he died in the road so you didn't have to drag him out

Thanks. I enjoy doing them. Especially the hunting part.

So hereís what happened...

Those who said dead within 40 yards were correct.
He tried to duck but just didnít get low enough.

The unique part, is what I discovered before finding him. I had trailed him to the top of the levee directly behind the feeder. He had gone over the levee and straight down to the creek. The creek is pretty deep there. I just couldnít figure out where he had gone after entering the water. Didnít take too long to figure out though. Look close!!

I had to fish him out.

He was bigger than I thought.

I’m thinking you made a good enough shot to probably get the lungs. He probably will run to water. If you have a water source within 40 yards, that’s where I’d be looking. Just a guess though, but you may find him dead there.

Enjoy seeing your videos as always. Keep them coming

I figured that shot for a couple inches further back in the lungs. Maybe even liver. Good to know there's more margin for error if you hit them high and back!

Entry here. May not be as far back as it appears on the video. I sure thought it was further back.

Good eye on finding him in the creek, that would have been an easy one to miss! (from looking at the pics). Congrats!

He definitely drowned, just not in water. Too much blood in his lungs. Good shot jeff. Great video. I can’t believe he ducked that much. That’s an old doe type ninja move.

You hit the void and lucked out that the ran into a pond and sucked water into the chest cavity and died from infection.

Nah. I figured he’d run farther than 40 yards but thought double lung for sure. Gotta hit low for the heart, but those lungs go way farther back, in my opinion, than most people think. especially a little higher up.
