    Annual Feed Expense

This question is for those of you that have it figured out to almost an exact science. How much is your corn usage per year along with expense? I'm looking for feedback from those of you that feed year round and particularly buy in bulk. I'm interested in corn mostly not supplements but feel free to share supplement info if you have it.

    What is your???
    Annual Corn Usage -
    Annual Corn Expense -
    Acreage -
    County Location -
    How many feeders -
How many feeds per day -
How many seconds per feed (12V)-

I don’t buy in bulk but I do keep pretty accurate info...
    What is your???
    Annual Corn Usage -12,000-15,000 lbs
Annual Corn Expense -last year $1658
    Acreage -450
    County Location - Karnes
How many feeders - 4/5 plus road feeder
How many feeds per day -3 (2 in am and one in pm)-off season only 2 feeders going with just one feed in am for 10 seconds
How many seconds per feed (12V)- 6-9 seconds during the season
We also feed some milo/corn I. Somegravity turkey/quail feeders that is included in the corn usage.

A tool you can use other than using excel on a computer is a website https://thehuntersight.com which a free account would allow you to keep a journal on your hunting property. Use web browser chrome or safari on your phone or computer to log in to your account. Create a property, place feeders on your map, then head to nutrition section and fill out pre-made templates.

When you enter data to your records, the system will show trends displayed in bar graphs of how much feed you use per feeder, per month. You can even compare feeders for a set time frame to track maybe which spot the deer are more concentrated or if they like a particular feed.

What isn't in the record template you can add in the notes section ie expense, feeder timer settings

Easy to figure, for the most part as far as feeders usage goes. Each feeder set at 8 seconds 2x a day, with an Eliminator plate, will throw approximately 50# a week. I'm sure it can vary with motor age and size (we use 12v high torque). Feeders that used spinner plates like a cup or gate plate tend to use 20-30% more from what we have found mainly due to birds, wind and other environmental factors.
Corn $$ can also vary by a large margin depending on your location.

I keep Quickbooks for my ranch expenses but no way I'm clicking through to find the feed bill total. Talk about a way to sour your deer hunting fun.
