    Auto mech help.

We have a 2002 Dodge 1500. The AC vent fan now only works on one speed which is high , instead of being able to adjust the blower speeds. Is this a rely issue or is there something else I need to trouble shoot ??

Might be the ceramic resistor for the blower motor has burned a connection. Your blower motor may need lubrication on the shaft end where the bushing is at. If that’s the original blower motor better replace it. The resistor can be resoldered but better replace it too.

When the blower motor gets some age on it, it may not spin as freely, especially on lower speeds. This will cause a soldered connection in that resistor to burn in two. That will result in the blower motor only blowing on one speed.

Rock auto has the parts at very reasonable prices.
