Corn prices - think it is bad now? Just wait...

I heard this morning the cost of planting corn and soybeans is expected to triple by next planting season. The cost of seed and especially fertilizer will be increasing dramatically.

This concludes your public service announcement.

You must have no idea what drives prices.

Guess he is sending all the money to his buddies: Illegals, drug companies, the Taliban, OPEC, and Putin, and China.

It is leaving my pocket faster every **** day.

It’s going to be amazing how people come to the realization they didn’t have to feed the wildlife all year long in order to kill said wildlife…….it’s
Going to be a good thing

Natural gas is on the up swing right now. Can’t grow anything without fertilizer.

The same fertilizer blend I bought last year at this time was around 450 a ton. Just checked last week its over 700. I don't think we will be planting winter rye this year.

Yep and there is a chlorine shortage as well

Heard a farmer on the radio yesterday say fertilizer, if yiu can find it, is now at $900/ton up from $400.
The bigger issue is the shortage of fertilizer and round up
If they can’t plant there will be no harvest and this is going to get ugly fast

We’ve been buying in bulk this year out of the dakotas. When I have a truck that isn’t fully loaded I have them throw on a 275 gallon tote full of corn for us. $6 for 100lbs. Problem solved.
