I apologize for the poor pics. We named this buck Ghost because he only came out at night. (yes, cheesy and generic I know)These are the best pics we have, sorry.
Even though the pics are bad, some of you guys see stuff in photos I miss all together so I thought I'd see what the GS has to say.

The buck in the story was shot Thanksgiving weekend on the Smart Ranch. The Smart Ranch is on the other side of the road from ours. I did have the only two live encounters with him on our place the weekend before Thanksgiving. I was in denial at first, but I think it is the same deer. The story says 13 points, I can only find 11 in the pics. I hope to find out what he scored, that buck is a beast.
Congrats to Ashley on a fine animal!
Ashley Heflin, killed this 13 point buck over the Thanksgiving holidays at the Smart Ranch near Rocksprings. Ashley’s “special” hunting guide was her Uncle Trey Smart whose words of encouragement were, “Now when I whistle he’s gonna stop and then you’ve only got a split second to make that one shot!” She listened. Ashley is the daughter of Herb and Diane Heflin of Mertzon, Texas and the granddaughter of Alma and the late Neville Smart of Rocksprings. Ashley is in the Tarleton Bachelor of Science and Nursing RN
program where she will graduate next December and pursue her Doctorate in Nursing Practice in Anasthesia at TCU
