    ??? Wood aging/trees

Buying a place with massive cedar trees, I’m talking 20” across the base and probably 7” at 28’.
How do I dry and preserve the golden color? I’ve seen preppers skin the bark off the bottom 4’ of other tree types to kill while still standing, but don’t think that would work on cedar. Should I kill while standing or cut and make a drying rack?Do trees like this have any value?
I would like to use some of these as natural beams on the inside of the cabin I’m building.
    Thanks for any positive input

Seriously! No one likes to play their wood?

Cut, stack and seal the ends with poly or something to minimize checking.
