Melanistic doe from my lease in Blanco county

Seen this little lady a few times starting last year when she was a fawn. Over the years it seems we have one or two but i have never seen a melanistic buck here. I know, i know turn the phone sideways

Saw some while with my son on a youth hunt near Luling a few years back. They said they had 5-6 in the WMA. They were jet black and not dark brown like that one. Don’t know if they vary in darkness, but cool nonetheless.

In years past ive had a couple that were darker than her but they were also older so maybe age makes them darker?

Age could be the factor. Awesome that you have those genetics there. How cool would it be if a jet black stud buck stepped out. You’ve got that possibility there..... I’d hold on to that place forever if it is possible if I was you just for that chance.
