Out at the lease I discovered an rusty old bow blind that was built on what looked to be a fairly solid carbon steel frame. I rehabbed it and have since decided this “free” blind is now my favorite. I’ll be hunting out of it for the first time on opening day.

I’ll be in Menard County for my first sit on the new leas. 16ft up a tree with my Mathews Reezen in hand. Have one target buck I’d draw on but if he doesn’t show, it will be a weekend of watching.

I'll be in Edwards County 36 miles southeast of Rocksprings off 377. I will be hunting with my son and his 2 grown boys. I shoot a Mathews Z71 Extreme.

Getting there Wednesday. Be in a ground blind to hopefully take a couple hogs Wed, Thur or Fri and then in the tree stand Saturday and after to have a clear shot over my pen.
