Default Solving a big Mexico problem

Would a hay baler work on seaweed? I’m sitting on the beach in Mexico, watching the same three guys every day, rake seaweed into piles and then load the piles into a JD Gator and haul it off. I mean the seaweed is basically already windrowed by the surf. Im thinking a small round baler would make short work of this. Just one trip down the beach every couple of hours and haul the seaweed off in bales. Of course two of these three dudes would be out of a job and on their way to Houston. Thoughts of an old construction hand on vacation.

Saltwater is going to destroy the bailer in short order. But I like where your head is at.

Those three could rake seaweed for about 174 years at their pay, before you could pay for a bailer and a tractor.

Are they wearing masks? ...outside, on the beach? That may be the reason they have decided that is the easiest way to solve the seaweed problem.

As long as you blow the baler out and then pressure wash the salt off throughly it’ll be fine. The sand will wear things down faster than anything else during use. Instead of a modern baler an old Allis Chalmers round baler might work. Less money for one thing. Maybe use a lubricant on the chains that dries and won’t pick up dust and salt.

You’ve been turned.. Those aren’t masks, they’re sunscreens. Some people actually wear them while working in the sun all day. You’ve been a desk jockey too long, Josh!Nobody in this place has had a mask on since we got here, workers included.

You need to go tell them they are racking wrong. Grab the rack and show them how it's done properly.

Enjoy your VACA.

Would you be interested in adopting an adult? I have no interest in Mexico, just fishing and hunting elsewhere. I’m house trained and will eat all my veggies except cabbage. Might be a few other things.

I tried. I get bored on the beach quick. My wife is convinced they’ll be fired if they let me help them. I’ve been operating a shovel since before they were born and one of them needs a lesson...his hands are all wrong on the pitchfork.

In many areas of the globe, labor is too cheap to bother with machinery or inventions. We went to Cancun many years ago and saw two guys manually dragging sections of pipe, while a backhoe sat unused.............

You should get fired for your choice of pictures on the beach!!!

Sorry been seeing so many people wearing them in public for the last year I forget some people use them for their intended purpose. I'm aware of what they are but 2020 has me warped I guess.

Them boys do not give two s's about covid. They just don't want to be darker or skin cancer. They use rakes on those side by's.. it still gets stinky but dam sure looks better. Just that time of year.
Playa or where? Beaches were clear a couple weeks ago. Fishing trips? Not the wife kind.
I will accept pics of either.
Please advise.

Yep^^ those but labor is cheap on most resorts.

I nearly stopped this Joslin truck on 99 this morning. I thought I might meet this curt fella and his lead foot but it was raining and now I see you're in Mexico. Should have known it wasn't the boss with a single.cab 250

Meanwhile, illegals are welcome at the border without testing of any kind. Makes a lot of F’ing sense don’t it?!?!?!
